How the rates work

Where the rates come from: We pull institutional reference rates for fiat and a live market feed for crypto, keep one table, and work out every cross-rate ourselves. There's no FX reseller in between.
How fresh they are: Crypto updates every minute. Fiat updates once per business day, when the reference rates are published. /v1/currency/status shows the last update for each class.
What's covered: About 160 national currencies including NGN, GHS and KES, the main cryptocurrencies, and gold, silver, platinum and palladium priced per troy ounce.
Rate history: We keep a snapshot of the rate table each time it updates. Store the rateAsOf from each response with your order or invoice and you can show which rate you used.

The API has four endpoints

Send your API key as a bearer token. It's the same key you use for email, push and social.

GET/v1/convertConvert an amount between two currencies. Returns the rate used and rateAsOf.

We ingest institutional reference rates for fiat and a live market feed for crypto, keep one canonical table, and compute cross-rates from it. We don't resell another FX provider's API.

Yes. NGN, GHS, KES and most other national currencies have market rates. If the rate you quote customers is different from the market rate, set your own under Currency in the dashboard and your conversions use it. Call /v1/currencies for the full list.

Every /v1/convert and /v1/rates response returns the rate and its rateAsOf timestamp. Save those with the transaction. We also keep a snapshot of each rate table we ingest.

Currency is its own subscription, separate from email or social, on the same API key and dashboard. The free plan covers 1,000 calls a day on 30 major currencies. Growth is $19 a month for 100,000 calls a day, all 230+ currencies and custom rates. Calls to /v1/currencies and /v1/currency/status don't count.
